Responsibilities:

  • Lead large overarching department initiatives that aim to streamline processes (office and field) to increase the efficiency of the department. This can range from analyzing all aspects of field welding, NDE,coating application and removal, excavation, backfill, etc., and determining areas for production improvements, cost reductions, changes in processes,
  • This can include the review and detailed analysis of specs, standards, processes and determine areas for improvement / change.
  •  Analyze and vet new initiatives ranging from the implementation of new technologies (ex: petro sleeves, metal core welding, new coatings, etc.,) to determine effectiveness of implementing them on the entire dig program and determine the impact on safety, cost, schedule and productivity
  •  Responsible for creating process & procedures within assigned portfolio to maintain or improve consistency and lower operating cost
  • Potential to complete design, engineering, and cost analysis of various aspects of the program. This can include mechanical design calculations and statistical analysis of long-term construction performance metrics, the identification of new construction metrics based on advanced statistics, and present to management on the need and benefit – and work with the database and PowerBI staff to define the data storage requirements, dashboard requirements for the new metrics and dashboards
  • Potential to complete advanced cost estimates, plans, and schedules, for special digs or projects (cut-outs, line lowering, river isolation, etc.,)


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated technical competence in at least one of the engineering disciplines, with the ability to overview and/or practice in other disciplines.
  • 4-7 years of progressively complex detailed design and/or project management experience.
  • Depending on technical education, accreditations and competency development in accordance with career ladders, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General understanding of pipeline and terminal operations
  • Software experience with: MS Office Suite, Oracle or SAP
  • Problem solving, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills
  • Collaborative, team- and service-oriented work style
  • Motivated self-starter who works well independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Valid driver’s license
