Job Overview
The Junior Business Analyst supports a time-bound initiative focused on transitioning applications from project delivery into operational sustainment. This role works closely with project teams, operations, and vendors to ensure applications, contracts, and support structures are fully prepared for steady-state operations. The analyst plays a key role in facilitating knowledge transfer, validating readiness, and enabling a smooth, low-risk handover to support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support transition-to-operations activities for applications moving from delivery to sustainment
- Review and validate application readiness, including documentation, support models, and operational processes
- Coordinate knowledge transfer sessions between project teams, vendors, and operations support teams
- Analyze contracts, licensing, and vendor support agreements to confirm operational ownership and responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to confirm transition timelines and secure handover approvals
- Identify and escalate risks, gaps, and dependencies that may impact successful transition
- Support the development, completion, and validation of transition plans and handover artifacts
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions to align business, IT, and operations teams on ownership and accountability
- Assist in defining post-go-live support processes, escalation paths, and operational readiness criteria
- Ensure all transition activities are completed within defined timelines to enable a smooth move to steady-state operations
Qualifications
- Experience as a Business Analyst supporting IT or application delivery initiatives
- Exposure to project environments, preferably involving transition to operations, sustainment, or support handovers
- Understanding of vendor contracts, licensing, and third-party support agreements is an asset
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, time-bound environments with evolving information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, gaps, and dependencies
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills to support alignment and decision-making
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
