High-Level Description:
The Value Specialist for the Technology + Innovation Lab (T+IL) – a new group within Enbridge tasked with positively disrupting its core businesses with innovative and impactful products using advanced technologies – will be executing all Value (and Finance) related matters for the Lab. This includes the ownership of process design, demonstrating an expert ability in shaping business cases, while simultaneously tracking and communicating impact. This role will require the incumbent to drive the work independently by working directly with the Lab Executive team as part of a small, passionate leadership group responsible for the performance and focus of our self-organizing Agile teams. This role will develop compelling business cases based on extremely complicated and novel business models that draw on expertise from a broad spectrum of stakeholders and viewpoints. This is a highly specialized position that is able to not only demonstrate financial modelling mastery but expertly facilitate information gathering from various sources.
Specific Accountabilities:
Value definition and business case support
- Operate as a consultant driven to provide critical business recommendations supported by robust value chain analysis
- Lead the business and Lab members (Product Owners) to identify and articulate the key operating and financial measures that are pertinent to the proposed solution
- Managing the Lab’s intake funnel
- Manage the intake and record keeping of decision support material (one pagers) and advise the Lab Team and BU leadership on the business opportunities presented to the T+IL
- Track and maintain records for all idea evaluations from Ideation through Pre-Discovery and Discovery
- Maintain the Lab’s Lab’s data feed for the Lab’s Funnel Dashboard
- Maintain and manage the Lab intak Kanban and biweekly update meetings
- Lead regular sessions for cross-functional exchange of learnings and knowledge
- This role will require strong leadership acumen to guide teams with differing levels of maturity, without formal authority
- Evaluate the intake readiness of all ideas presented to the Lab

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Domain expertise
- Minimum 7 years/preferred 10 years of experience working in an extremely high pace and high performing quantitative environments, preferably with native Digital companies
- Experience building financial models and value capture
- Calculating ROI, EBITDA, Innovation Spending, Expenses vs Cost ratios, etc.
- Background in accounting, finance, or consulting is an asset
- Experience in educating various types of internal and external clients about Agile methodology and way of working
- Individual skills
- Entrepreneurial, organized self-starter who is self-motivated, but also a team player with a professional presence and a passion for digital, with proven experience in Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional, self-organizing teams and has a thirst for continuously improving the status quo
- Strong computer and analytical skills; proficient with Excel and Power Point
- Strong communication skills with ability to get things done, “does not drop the ball”, while also collaborating with team

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree such as CFA or MBA preferred
