Overview:
The QA Engineer will play a critical role as a member of the team, ensuring quality standards are met, identifying defects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, quality assurance methodologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality products that meet user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure functionality and performance across our software offerings.
- Conduct manual and automated testing across various stages of the software development lifecycle, identifying defects and ensuring they are resolved.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
- Monitor and report on testing progress, providing regular updates to the development team and management.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain and enhance automated testing frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features do not adversely affect existing functionality.
- Document and track defects using issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) and verify that fixes are implemented correctly.
- Build relationships and work collaboratively with the Technical, Marketing, and Sales Support teams in a start-up environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years in software quality assurance or testing, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with automated testing tools (Cypress preferred or equivalent such as Selenium, Playwright).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with performance testing tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of security testing practices and tools to ensure the integrity of applications.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
