As a PR Consultant, your role is to lead the day-to-day implementation of campaigns and always on PR activity. You’re key to getting our clients maximum exposure in market. 

In addition to meeting annual personal performance objectives, a PR Consultant is expected to meet most of the following qualifications.

 

Product:

  • Possesses strong media relations coordination skills including reviewing media lists and conducting media research.
  • Possesses journalist relationships; having familiarity with journalist specialism/interests, editorial contacts and calendars, publication dates.
  • Possesses strong knowledge and understanding of Australian media landscape; publications across all verticals.
  • Implements media relations to meet campaign and/or retainer KPI’s, including launch day press pack distribution.
  • Manages journalist enquiries, creative pitching of stories and demonstrates problem solving to pivot angles with the support of supervisor.
  • Possesses basic writing skills for key client documents using a range of appropriate styles - pitches, briefing materials, features, case studies, newsletters, web site copy, bylined articles, etc.
  • Manages influencer programs, including talent outreach, cost negotiation and Talent Pay budget management.
  • Manages post campaign analysis including result tracking, reporting and EOD’s, including proficiency in PR tools such as Meltwater / iSentia.  

Client Service:

  • Possesses understanding of client business, industry sectors and issues. Demonstrates this through the sharing of AOI relating to clients.
  • Manages client expectations and begins to build understanding of client’s overall business objectives.
  • Demonstrates online and offline research skills (primary, secondary) on industry and client topics, issues and competitors. Plus analysis of information.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of client processes including the updating of WIPs for supervisor review. WIP notes developed in a timely manner.


Skills:

  • Demonstrates strong competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and GoogleDrive and Internet skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using PR and media tools such as Klear, Telum, SourceBottle etc.
  • Effectively uses and manages own time and demonstrates an understanding of the importance of deadlines, including completion of timesheets each week.
  • Consistently works to Eleven standards, paying attention to detail with no careless errors.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills with clients and team members.
