About the role 

We’re looking for a Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenance Team responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in environments classified as hazardous due to the presence of flammable gases, vapours or dust at our site in Padstow.

This role requires a deep understanding of safety regulations, specialised equipment, and industry best practices to ensure the safe operation of electrical systems in high-risk areas. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working within a small team of 4 asset care staff, you'll have the ownership and support you need to succeed in your role and the opportunity to make a significant impact to operations of our manufacturing facilities. 

The role requires flexibility with working hours (from 6am-2pm) including some work on Saturdays (ad hoc basis). To be considered for this role you must have knowledge and experience of the Australian Hazardous Area Standards - AS-NZS 60079 and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, addressing and repairing electrical breakdowns
  • Conducting periodic and preventative maintenance activities
  • Evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Communicate with suppliers and contractors for purchase of parts, services and equipment
  • Debugging PLC logic and troubleshooting electrical/electronic controls and circuits
  • Install, repair and test electrical and electronic systems

Skills & Experience 

  • Previous experience as an Electrician in an industrial environment including hazardous areas
  • A-grade Electrical licence with Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas
  • Confined space and working at heights and EWP licences
  • MEX software and Microsoft Excel experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
