Your Role

We’re looking for a People, Culture & Change Senior Advisor who is passionate about providing key support to business leaders and their teams and putting their HR knowledge and operational skills to the test.

Through driving your own caseload and working in collaboration with other People functions, you will provide a wide variety of operational and strategic HR advice across the entire employee lifecycle including performance management and ER, Industrial Relations, change management, talent and remuneration, and leadership development. Your portfolio will be hybrid across 3 portfolios, primarily focusing on B&D Group with employees in Christchurch and Auckland. You will be a member of the B&D NZ Leadership Team and work closely with your leaders to support and coach them to build and maintain high performing teams. 

This role requires effective collaboration across a matrix structure, you'll show a high ability to work independently and take initiative. You’ll possess the positive attitude and experience required to “hit the ground running”. This is a great opportunity for the right person to shape this role and make it their own.

You'll have a flexible working style that can adapt to varying workloads with the ability to manage competing priorities. Your strong initiative and attention to detail as well as your "no task is too big or too small attitude" will be key to your success in our team. The role involves working in industrial environments and requires comfort in such settings. 

This role will require some travel between sites on an occasional basis.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong generalist HR experience, with a focus on ER/IR case management from start to finish
  • Experience in facilitating training sessions and leading small-scale change initiatives
  • Ability to work independently
  • Has the skills to create real sustainable change by partnering with the teams you work with
  • Can communicate with impact, build and maintain strong relationships and influence others to deliver great outcomes for our people
  • Is positive and solutions focussed
  • Has the ability to influence and constructively challenge
  • You will bring with you a self-driven focus and be someone who can take the initiative in a fast paced and busy environment
  • Candidates must be comfortable building relationships with remote colleagues and working in a down-to-earth environment
