Your Role

Reporting to the Group Manager - Financial Control, this role is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in financial accounting, reporting and compliance, by staying up-to-date on accounting standards, interpretations and emerging accounting issues.

In this specialist and highly technical role, you will provide accounting advice in regards to M&A and purchase price accounting work. You’ll also support the technical accounting competency of the wider Finance function by producing and providing training, as well as maintaining and updating accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical accounting papers, review proposals, and provide advice to the Finance team on technical accounting matters
  • Accounting for M&A transactions and projects, which may involve working with external providers for valuations
  • Ensure the Finance Group’s accounting policies are updated/refined and can be interpreted and applied globally and commercially
  • Develop and deliver Finance system and commercial training content
  • Assisting with the consolidation of group results for external and parent entity reporting
  • Provide accurate and robust advice on any accounting issues to avoid unplanned financial impacts

Skills & Experience

  • Business or Commerce degree including CA/CPA qualified
  • Significant experience within a financial accounting and reporting environment with the ability to work through complex accounting issues and provide practical commercial advice
  • Experience with business acquisitions and purchase price accounting is essential
  • Background in a consolidated Group environment, operating in multiple countries
  • Strong project and change management expertise
  • Exceptional time management skills with an ability to deliver on critical reporting deadlines
