Emergency Management Executive Twinning Model (Executive Workforce Surge Response)
You’re invited to express interest in joining the Emergency Management Executive twinning model over the high-risk weather season from December 2024 to March 2025 (indicative) to support response to an emergency event.
The twinning model is designed to identify suitably skilled leaders across the Department that can be temporarily deployed into our Emergency Management Group for up to 12 weeks to support a significant weather event. Your role will be to provide much needed relief to your twin to support and manage fatigue over the period of an event being declared.
As a twin, you’ll be mobilised into a specific role that’s aligned to your skills at either the same SES classification as your current role or a step-up opportunity if you are currently a VPS6. You will likely be required to work irregular hours, and some weekends. You’ll continue to be employed and paid by your Group for the duration of your assignment, and you’ll return to your substantive role at the conclusion.

You can express interest in a position if you work for DJCS and are an ongoing or fixed term employee working full-time or part-time
If you perform front-line operations or critical legislative responsibilities, you may not be eligible. Check with your manager or contact Luke Bishop in PSCC if you have questions about your eligibility.
We are seeking high performing VPS6 leaders, Director and Executive Director levels with the below skills/knowledge and capabilities:
- Executive capabilities - people management, leadership, communicating with influence, problem solving
- Understanding of and experience in government processes, government stakeholder management, and Director level oversight
- Knowledge of Emergency Management arrangements, stakeholder engagement (council) experience
- Technology, data/information, analytics and event reporting support
