About the role
Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV) is responsible for state and regional coordination of relief and recovery for all emergencies to help communities build back better and emerge stronger. ERV is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Working directly with impacted communities, all levels of government, agencies and industry, ERV coordinates real, effective and timely relief and recovery after a major emergency.
The Regional Recovery Manager is taking leave for 4+ weeks and as an operational role, this position needs coverage for this time.
About you
To be successful you will have:
- An ability to lead regional recovery preparedness and operations, including timely stakeholder communications and preparation of high-quality operational reporting for executives.
- Identify and actively manage emerging issues and areas of risk for government, department and the community
- Effectively manage and provide leadership the North West Metro Region team of employees by:
- leading and supporting individuals to achieve their potential and contribution to organisational goals and outcomes.
- modelling behaviours integral to good people management and departmental values
- pro-actively building and maintaining positive relationships with peers and stakeholders across the organisation
This is an excellent opportunity for a person with strong operational emergency management and relief and recovery skills, and exceptional relationship management capability. The position requires travel within the North West Metro Region and is home based either within or for this short period, outside the region.
