Discovery Resorts – Lake Argyle

In the far north of Western Australia, in the remote Kimberley region is a vast freshwater lake nestled amongst a rugged billion year old landscape. Brimming with an abundance of wildlife and with an outlook of rich colours, Lake Argyle is truly paradise in the outback!

Situated on a hillside overlooking the lake, Discovery Parks – Lake Argyle takes advantage of this spectacular location and breathtaking rugged Kimberley scenery. The Roles

Kitchen Hand

• Stacking and unstacking dishwasher.
• Maintaining a clean kitchen and work area.
• Assisting kitchen staff with some food preparation.
• General kitchen duties. 
• Working as part of a team to assist Chefs.

Cook

• Responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service.
• Ensure the kitchen complies with sanitation regulations and safety standards while controlling and directing food preparation.
• Cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery.
• Liaise with front of house staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of daily services.

Skills & Experience

• Fantastic attitude and ready to support in a busy kitchen
• Previous demonstrated experience in a kitchen environment
• Team orientated but also able to work autonomously
• Excellent time management skills
• Flexible attitude to hours, including weekends, public holidays and on short notice
• Food handling certificate (essential)

This is a remote role, where you will be living and working at Lake Argyle Resort. As such, please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time. This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
