Lake Argyle Resort

The Role

The Maintenance and Gardening Department plays a vital role across the property to ensure the highest standards of upkeep of all infrastructure, equipment, gardens and grounds. They are also responsible for ensuring that all fundamental equipment such as generators, pump systems and small tools are continuously maintained. This position is a hands-on-role, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.

Duties

  • Overseeing the upkeep of irrigation systems
  • Maintaining and cleaning the pool
  • Managing pest and weed control
  • Performing general gardening and landscaping throughout the resort
  • Collaborating with skilled craft workers and technicians in the maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, grounds, and equipment
  • This position requires two after-hours call-out shifts per week.

Skills & Experience

  • All-Rounder trades knowledge
  • Experience with gardening/landscaping
  • Resort, Trade or maintenance industry knowledge and experience
  • High level of fitness and energy
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise daily tasks and work with minimal supervision
  • Display attention to detail in order to create and maintain a stunning and natural horticultural environment
  • A fun, energetic, hardworking and lively personality!

Qualifications/Certificates

  • Manual Driver's License (Essential)
  • HR Drivers Licence (Highly Desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
  • Fork Lift License (Desirable)
  • Chainsaw Licence (Desirable)
  • Snake Handling Certificate (Desirable)
  • Landscaping/horticultural qualifications are desirable but not essential as proven experience will be vital.

This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
