The Role

Step into the heart of the Kimberley region and take charge as the Head Chef at El Questro. You’ll lead our culinary team to deliver an efficient, cost-effective food service, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in our commercial kitchen. Working split shifts across breakfast and dinner, you’ll focus on creating exceptional guest experiences through your leadership and culinary expertise.

Your role will include crafting exquisite à la carte dishes and breakfast buffets for our homestead guests, as well as delivering high-quality buffets for small functions and conferences. You’ll work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless and efficient service delivery, all while maintaining a strong commitment to superior guest satisfaction.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the kitchen team, including training and performance development.
  • Plan and develop innovative menus that showcase fresh, local ingredients.
  • Oversee electronic purchasing, cost management, and HACCP compliance.
  • Prepare, organize, and deliver exceptional dishes with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Maintain strong communication with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

About You

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a similar environment, with leadership responsibilities.
  • Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in electronic purchasing and cost management.
  • A creative approach to menu planning and development.
  • Ability to work autonomously and lead a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to food hygiene and safety, with HACCP experience essential.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (highly desirable).
  • A valid driver’s license.

This role may involve extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery.
