About Us

G’day Group

G’day Group is the undisputed leader in regional travel, with over 85 properties and a network of over 300 parks across Australia’s most sensational destinations. We have a range of the best accommodation to bring people, places, and communities closer together.

Undara Experience

Say g’day to more of Australia and join us at the Undara Experience, home to one of the world’s longest lava-tube cave systems, formed over 190,000 years ago. This tourism icon is on the doorstep of a world-class geological phenomenon, and just three hours by car from Cairns, easily accessible from the Savannah Way. Join our team in Tropical Far North Queensland and explore this authentic outback experience with restored railway carriages, pioneer huts and a swag tent village—the perfect setting to connect people to nature, networks and communities.

The Role

Step into a role where no two days are the same. We’re looking for an experienced and capable General Manager to lead the team at Undara Experience, a truly unique outback tourism destination in Far North Queensland.

This is a live-in, full-time role managing all operational aspects of the property—including accommodation, food & beverage, guided tours, and guest services. If you’re someone who thrives in a hands-on, remote environment and can lead a small, dedicated team with confidence, this might be the lifestyle change you’ve been looking for.

Duties

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the property, driving guest satisfaction, maintaining high standards, and ensuring the business meets its commercial goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing accommodation, F&B operations, and guided tours
  • Leading and mentoring a small team across departments
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance, and guest experience
  • Working within budgets and ensuring cost-effective operations
  • Building relationships with local stakeholders and tour operators
  • Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager and contributing to broader business objectives

Skills & Experience:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in managing hospitality or tourism operations, ideally in a remote or regional location
  • Confident leading small teams and working across multiple departments
  • Comfortable living onsite in a remote setting
  • Organised, resilient, and commercially minded
  • Passionate about the guest experience and delivering quality service

Benefits

  • Live-on-site accommodation provided
  • Competitive salary + performance bonuses
  • Genuine autonomy and ownership of your site
  • Discounts across the G’Day Group network of 300+ properties
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and partner benefits

This is a remote role, where you will be living and working at Undara. As such, please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time. G'day Group offers competitive remuneration and remote living benefits. We also offer career development and learning opportunities including structured training programs and on the job experience and mentoring.
