The Role

As a Sous Chef at Undara Experience, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and menu execution
  • Prepare and present dishes with a focus on local ingredients and regional flavors
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Help manage inventory, ordering, and food costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Working effectively within a team environment
  • Assisting in stock control and monitoring wastage

About You

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous Chef experience and cooking in a high-quality, fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in electronic purchase ordering and cost management
  • Proven experience in planning and developing menus
  • Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Ability to prep and organise ahead 
  • Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
  • HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene     
  • Current drivers license.

This is a remote role, where you will be living and working at Undara. As such, please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period of time. This role includes extensive manual handling tasks including lifting up to 20kg kneeling and squatting, as well as handling chemicals and utilising machinery
