With roots firmly planted in traditional holiday parks, recent years has seen evolving investment into premium, experiential tourism, including the award-wining Discovery – Rottnest Island, a glamping resort in WA, along with buying a number of other resorts, country clubs and golf courses, and more recently El Questro and Kings Canyon Resorts.
The Park & Corporate Technology team is focused on equipping, connecting, maintaining and supporting critical systems, and driving efficiency gains. To do this they support and enable our Operations, Finance and People teams- in conjunction with critical partners.
With a focus on guest experience, the team has experienced a steady expansion in hospitality systems fuelling all aspects of our hospitality business. As a result, we continue to expand our technology capability and capacity to meet the growing needs of the business both at park, and in the Adelaide office.
About the Role
As General Manager – Parks and Corporate Technology you will hold responsibility for IT Support, Park & Corporate Project Delivery and the technology aspects of Onboarding and Optimisation of new assets. It’s imperative that you bring a focus on continued improvement in processes and individual capabilities. You will lead a series of highly motivated teams working on a broad variety of infrastructure, systems and projects.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will have significant executive exposure and interaction, and will be a member of the Executive sponsored “Executive Leadership Team”- the senior group of leaders responsible for leading the entire business. You will demonstrate a history of successfully engaging, influencing and partnering with senior business stakeholders to achieve successful technology outcomes for the business.
This represents an excellent opportunity for a leader with extensive experience, ideally with a mixture of consulting and in-house leadership. Key responsibilities of the role will include -
· Lead all aspects of the Park & Corporate Technology Team including: IT Support, Park & Corporate Projects, Onboarding and Optimisation
· Contribute significantly to the creation of, and lead the execution of the park and corporate technology strategy, establishing a best practice capability
· Lead business engagement with key stakeholders across the Park and Corporate business to provide technology solutions aligned to the business strategy
· Supported by the CTO, take ownership of the Park and Corporate Technology budget with a focus on operational cost reduction, capital cost management and working with business stakeholders on business cases that fund major projects
· Apply a commercial lens to decision making, always ensuring critical decisions are being made in the best interest of the business
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science (or similar) combined with extensive experience from within a highly commercial environment. You will be an expert in Technical Leadership and Program Management, with a passion for inspiring large teams to achieve critical business outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate a track record in delivering successful technology outcomes in a complex environment, through building trust and exerting influence.
You will have demonstrated experience in managing project timelines within a multi-million dollar budget. You will have managed commercial agreements with external vendors, ideally with offshore experience. You will have working knowledge of current IT technologies across multiple disciplines.
