The Role...
As the Sous Chef, you are the second most important person in the kitchen brigade, supporting the Executive Chef in all aspects of food preparation, menu execution, and kitchen operations.
You will run the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence and ensure smooth daily operations.
This role offers a great work-life balance with no breakfast service and no split shifts.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in menu planning, food preparation, and cooking to deliver delicious, high-quality meals.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain kitchen efficiency by overseeing stock levels, ordering supplies, and keeping within COGs target ranges.
- Engage in regular team meetings and assist in team development.
- Ensure consistency and excellence in food presentation and taste.
- Run the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide outstanding dining experiences for our guests.
About You
We are looking for a motivated Sous Chef with:
- Proven management experience in a professional kitchen.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a dynamic team.
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or lengthy tenure in chef role)
- Food Handling Supervisor certificate
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
