About the role:
We are seeking a Theatre Orderly to join our diverse, close-knit Day Surgery Unit team at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM). This role is vital to RDHM’s operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal skills, and take pride in supporting others, this could be the perfect job for you!
You will be responsible for:
- Assist with the transfer and positioning of patients to and from operating tables, beds, wheelchairs, and other equipment, ensuring safe handling practices are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene within the operating theatre and surrounding areas.
- Transport and deliver items between departments/services including documents, specimens, and medical supplies as required.
- Organize storerooms, manage waste, and ensure the staff tearoom is restocked and cleaned.
A bit about you:
- You are organized and efficient.
- You work well under pressure, if required
- You value workplace diversity and teamwork.
- You enjoy interacting with others and have a customer service focus.
- You preferably have experience working in a hospital environment.
- Your knowledge of infection control is advantageous.
