About the role:
The Senior Dental Assistant - Orthodontics is responsible for supporting the Team Leader in the daily supervision and coaching of dental assistants within the team and supporting clinical management/operations across the Orthodontics Department. The role also assists the Team Leader in a range of specific development activities within the team.
Your responsibilities:
- Manage consumable stock and re-ordering, equipment maintenance and clinical rostering.
- In collaboration with the Dental Assistant Team Leader, implement agreed strategies to ensure effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with clinicians to provide optimal patient care and assist in ensuring patient needs are considered in all clinical decisions and oral health education and promotion.
- Perform dental assisting chair side duties as and when required to meet the operational needs of the organisation.
- Conduct audits in line with accreditation standards and organisational requirements.
You will have:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent.
- Certificate IV or equivalent in a Dental Assistant Speciality scheme (Desirable).
- Experience in coaching and managing the performance of a small team in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge in rostering and resource management.
- Strong knowledge of patient care processes, techniques and terminology within an oral health environment.
