About the opportunity

We’re pleased to invite applications for the position of Internal Communications Specialist to join the People team with the Detmold Group.

Based in Hindmarsh, SA and reporting to the Executive General Manager, People, you’ll deliver internal global communication framework activities in a timely manner, ensuring the messaging is consistent with The Detmold Way to enhance employee engagement. You’ll be the heartbeat of all things internal communications. You’ll get to play with words, share exciting updates and keep our employees informed and inspired.

Your marketing and brand experience will ensure you provide best in class internal communication to reach all employees, be easily understood and referenced as required. Communicating through various channels, you’ll improve employees’ knowledge and understanding of the business with timely, accurate and relevant information.

A key focus will be on working closely with business stakeholders to develop strong clear communication plans to deliver on business outcomes. 

Your change management skills will support the business to deliver a change process that is effective and aligned to group strategy.

In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:

  • Deliver communications in line with the global internal communication framework  
  • Create through communications good news stories from around the globe
  • Create and deliver strategic employee communication campaigns for key business projects 
  • Support the business with tactical communications requirements where necessary and provide advice and recommendations on communication activities
  • Source, write and edit corporate communications content for the business internally including news articles, key messages, briefings, scripts, video, the Source magazine and other communication needs.
  • Be responsible for the curation of The Source as a significant bi-annual publication
  • Help manage all internal communication channels including intranet, leadership communications, town halls, enterprise social media, newsletters
  • Assist with leadership communications as required to ensure linking of messages and consistency.

About you 

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive experience in marketing and communications in a large, complex, global organisation.
  • Proficiency with basic design and video editing software such as Canva and Clipchamp 
  • Familiarity and comfort with social media, various communications platforms and data analytics
  • The proven ability to design and conduct readiness assessments, evaluate results, and advise stakeholders on the best course of communication application.
  • Superior communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High levels of resilience and the abilty to manage multiple priorities.
  • A strong commitment to the provision of service excellence.
  • A tertiary qualification in business, communications, project management or other relevant discipline.
