HR Business PartnerTe Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity 

The HR Business Partner is an amazing permanent newly created role to build the People and Performance landscape within Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. The function is building and will help transform the workplace with the impending introduction of a selection of HR IT systems, Te Reo and cultural programmes, OnBoarding and wellbeing initiatives. 

Key Duties:

  • Leads ER issues until resolution
  • Provides prompt thorough recruitment services via ATS in line with policy
  • Proactively partners with Team Leads on P&P matters including PIP s and any disciplinary matters
  • Lead Year End Review processes and associated training and reporting
  • Implements any change processes in alignment with GM People and Performance
  • Liaise with P&P Systems Co-ordinator to build and execute specific OnBoarding and Exit processes
  • Ensures personnel records meet legal and privacy standards. 
  • Manage all queries via the P&P e mail system.
  • Ensure all HSE matters are dealt with and support around Wellness programmes is robust and well communicated. 
  • Be the HR IT platform expert over time.

Ngā tino pūkenga/whēako | Essential skills/experiences for the role: 

  • At least 2- 3 years working as a Human Resource Business Partner with a strong focus on ER issues, policies and enhancing performance.
  • Strong cultural competency ideally gained from working in a iwi or similar context.
  • Must hold a tertiary NZ HR or legal qualification and have recent understanding in current NZ employment legislation. 
  • Must be used to partnering within a business with proven shifts in performance metrics.
  • Proven capability around accuracy, management of privacy and disciplined management of files.
  • Familiar with ATS, HRIS and LMS systems and technically savvy.
