About the Role

DDH1 Drilling is currently seeking a Field Supervisor to join our team. As a Field Supervisor you will be responsible for communicating between several departments within the Company as well as between client representatives and geologists. The Field Supervisor must use their extensive drilling knowledge and qualifications to assist in drilling practices to ensure maximum production and core recovery in the safest manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that “Duty Of Care” is exercised in all aspects of their own work activities as well as all personnel under their control.
  • Ensuring all personnel comply with the HSE Regulations, any site specific rules or pertinent act or regulations which may apply with varying site operations.
  • Assisting Drillers in training of Trainee Drillers and Drillers Offsiders in correct and safe working procedures and the proper care of equipment.
  • Understanding fully the terms of the drilling program and liaising with the client to ensure successful completion.
  • Consistently applying sound management practices and techniques within your range of competence.
  • Ensure direction, leadership, management and support for all drilling and maintenance under your control.                
  • Positively promote the companies’ business at every opportunity.
  • Ensuring a high standard of personal presentation, behaviour and conduct at all times and checking that all field crews are also well presented.

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 7- 10 years experience in multi purpose Drilling
  • Cert IV in Drilling Operations
  • Current Heavy Rigid Driver's licence
  • Current National Police clearance
  • Fatigue Management training
  • ICAM or equivalent WHS incident investigation training
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate or equivalent

Key Competencies and Skills

  •  Willingness to travel to remote project sites
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of the Mines Safety Act and Regulations & WHS Act.

Candidates must be physically fit, love working outdoors and prepared to work in all weather conditions. Contracts are either remote exploration or mine site based on various roster rotations consisting of 4/2 and 2/1.
