About the Role

 DDH1 Drilling is looking for talented Drillers with experience operating a range of rig models, including DE880, DE881, DE710 and Boart Longyear LF90. Experience drilling mid rotary and Reverse Circulation pre collars with diamond tails is also preferred.

 This is a FIFO position for remote exploration or mine-site locations with options for 4:2 (interstate) or 2:1 (Perth-based) rosters.

  What we’re looking for:

·      Current HR or above licence

·      Completed or completing Cert III in Drilling Operations

·      Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID011

·      COVID-19 Vaccination

·      Current Police Clearance

 Your day-to-day responsibilities for your rig and drilling team:

1.    Operate drill rig to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards within a highly regulated operational safety system.

2.    Ensuring that ‘Duty of Care’ is exercised in all aspects of your own work activities as well as all personnel under your control.

3.    Ensuring all personnel comply with current HSE Regulations and any site-specific rules or regulations which may apply with various site operations.

4.    Carry out comprehensive inspections on all equipment onsite, including rigs, trucks, caravans, camps and generators. Required inspections daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly completed to a high standard.

5.    General maintenance and repairs including servicing and scheduled component change outs.

6.    Oversee the correct sampling procedures and ensure the core is marked to the client’s requirements.

7.    Train, coach and mentor Offsiders and Trainee Drillers in safe work practices and rig operations. Develop trainees into capable and skilled drillers.

8.    Liaising with clients and executing the drilling program successfully to ensure operational excellence is delivered.

9.    Provide leadership and support for all drilling and maintenance under your control.               

10. Ensuring a high standard of personal presentation, behaviour and workplace conduct at all times, as well as checking that all field crews are also well presented.

11. Always presenting ‘Fit for Work’, being punctual in attendance and participating in Drug and Alcohol testing when required.
