About the Role
The role of an Offsider is to assist the Driller with general duties including but not limited to:
- Mobilizing rig from one set up to another
- Handling drilling rods and core tubes
- Handling core – removing from tubes, placing in core boxes and labelling the box
- Mixing Drill Fluid Additives
- Cleaning equipment and keeping work area clean
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and repairs
- Field-based FIFO role
To be considered for DDH1 Offsiding positions , you will need to MEET the following requirements:
Candidates must be physically fit, love the outdoors and prepared to work in all weather conditions. Contracts are either remote exploration or mine site based on various roster rotations.
Additional employment requirements include:
- HR-B (Synchromesh) Drivers Licence
- Current Police Clearance, less than 3 months old
- Provide First Aid Certificate
- Flexibility in working ALL three rosters: 4:2 (4 weeks on, 2 weeks off), 2:1 (2 weeks on, 1 week off) or 20:10 (20 days on, 10 days off)
- Pass a stringent pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test
- Ability to work as a safe and cooperative team player
- Manual labouring experience and be physically fit to cope with the demands of the position.
- Be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident.
