About the Role:
Joining our team in Tasmania as an Extension Advisor, you will work closely with dairy farmers and regional networks to ensure engagement with the Research, Development and Extension programs that Dairy Australia offers. You will encourage participation in events and foster opportunities to discuss emerging issues across regional areas, as you support the facilitation and delivery of capability building.
Your experience in planning, evaluating and reporting, in relation to programs and resources, combined with technical knowledge of dairy feedbase, nutrition or agribusiness will support your success in the role. You will bring strong facilitation skills to support farmer led discussion groups, while your project management experience in the agricultural sector including events management will help you to deliver key objectives in this role.
You are open to exploring issues that are impacting farmers across Tasmania and the dairy industry broadly and what solutions may be available. You will always consider ways that you can make a difference on farm and enjoy seeing the impact of change on farm.
This opportunity will be offered as a fixed term contract until December 2026.

Ideally you will be degree qualified in agriculture, environment or equivalent, or have extensive knowledge of the Australian dairy industry. Demonstrated experience in working with farmers and groups of farmers, including the delivery of information and programs will strongly support you in this role as will your strong communication skills.
You will also understand how technology can make an impact in extension and will utilise our CRM (Salesforce) to promote events and capture data that will guide and support the programmes and innovation we deliver.
