About the role: 

A newly created role within our Economics, Data and Insights team, the Junior Economist role will be a fantastic opportunity to extend and develop your skills in economic research and data analysis while also supporting your passion and interest in the agriculture sector to support key farm business economic initiatives. 

If you are a motivated and detail-oriented graduate with strong analytical skills, who can use applied experience in manipulating data ( R experience would be highly valued) and modelling to support benefit-cost analysis that will determine the progression of various research projects, then we would like to hear from you. You will also apply econometric models to evaluate policies and programs that impact the Dairy Industry. 

Working with Industry leaders you will learn and develop through connections within Dairy Australia and across our significant networks nationally and internationally and we will support further formal learning opportunities also. 

These are some of the ways you will make an impact in this role; 

  • Use your data manipulation skills to analyse complex datasets, providing actionable insights that support decision-making. 
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses to assess the economic impact of various agricultural initiatives  
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality reports, presentations and recommendations  

Our ideal candidate: 

You will bring not only a relevant qualification in Economics, Commerce or Business (with a major in Economics) but also a passion for Agriculture/the Dairy Industry. You are curious and ask questions to support your understanding and will drive your development by engaging with our team of experts and applying your knowledge of economic theory.
