About the role:
We have a 12-month parental leave contract for an Extension Team Lead in our Murray region. You will provide effective leadership including coordination and support for the extension team, as they deliver innovative, well planned and collaborative regional extension and education activities. This role reports directly into the Regional Manager, and there are also opportunities to link into our broader Regional Services team for support. You will manage a team of between 1-3 experienced Extension staff members, so management experience is a key requirement.
This role has a strong focus on working closely with regional networks, including dairy advisers and service providers, to ensure that dairy farmers and service providers gain knowledge and confidence from information derived from relevant regional, state and national dairy Research, Development & Extension programs.

- Provide leadership and line management to our team of Extension Advisors.
- Inform and promote regional and national priorities, policies and delivery of extension services on key technical themes.
- Ensure program delivery is aligned to priorities and industry targets and includes initiating the development and implementation of timely and relevant extension and support activities.
- Coordinate and implement plans and activities to ensure regional extension and education delivery is collaborative, effective, robustly evaluated and effective.
- Communicate timely and relevant information that ensures extension and education activities function well and are supported by strong and effective professional networks.
Our ideal candidate
You are outcomes driven and have experience in managing teams and delivering extension activities. Your knowledge of nutrition and feedbase, farming systems, farm production and the dairy industry or related industries, will be valued and utilised. You can demonstrate experience in working with farmers in extension delivery and facilitation but also understand the importance of building strong relationships across the region to ensure that our extension activities create change on farm and build capability for farmers.
