 WHO WE NEED

Challenger is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and results driven full time Housekeeping and Public Areas Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring that we are exceeding our deliverables and service level standards in a 5 star hotel, as well as supporting your team of highly trained front line workers. A knowledge of housekeeping and public area cleaning operations within the hospitality industry is essential. WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Housekeeping and Public Areas Manager you will:

  • Manage the daily housekeeping and public area cleaning operations within a busy 5 star hotel, ensuring adherence to financial budgets and that operational targets are exceeded
  • Ensure that divisional compliance requirements are maintained
  • Develop and mentor a high performing team that exceeds standards, service level expectations and operational requirements
  • Undertake a variety of people management tasks aligned with rostering, recruitment, performance management and training to ensure that high performance standards are achieved
  • Build strong client relationships, ensuring that open communication and proactive solutions are implemented with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Be able to lead by example and jump in and assist operations where needed
  • Professionally deal with feedback from clients and guests
  • Liaise efficiently with all other departments

 WHAT YOU WILL NEED

To be considered for this role, it’s expected that you will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role of overseeing operations preferably within 4-5 star hotels
  • Proven success in managing the end to end operations of teams in either housekeeping or public areas
  • Proven success in developing a high-performance team and delivering to set Service Levels and targets
  • Proven experience working to an operational budget
  • Excellent problem solving and solution implementation skills
  • Experience with new site roll-outs
  • Understanding of Hospitality Award, and compliant employment conditions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy of the Microsoft Office Suite of products as well as Hospitality related software
