Day-to-day leadership of the Engineering team, with a focus on delivering results,
teamwork, and innovation
• Take responsibility for the overall planning and execution of complex technical projects
by providing initial and detailed estimates, leading resources, communication to senior
management and other collaborators
• Being abreast and hands-on with the latest SAP technology
• Work closely with your manager, peers and software engineers in the world-wide team
to architect and develop the best technical design and execution approach on all your
projects
• Enable future readiness of your engineering team
• Drive innovation throughout the SAP engineering teams
• Develop and maintain staff development and succession plans in your team
• Report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance
• Experience with a global organization; ability to manage remote teams.
• Advanced proficiency in software development lifecycle methodologies (i. e. Agile),
including requirements definition, system design and testing / QA and transition to
production.
• Advanced understanding of software design patterns and methodology is must.
• Advanced knowledge of configuration management practices and procedures.
• Executes design activities leveraging knowledge of all application design techniques;
Ensures design is consistent with solution architecture; Ensures adherence to design
standards; Performs technology proofs-of-concept to support design approaches.
• Experience with change control procedures and technology best practices.
• Experience in architecture and technical design of enterprise solutions leveraging
various SAP Technologies.
• Agile development methodologies will be an added advantage.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 15 years of professional software development experience with 5+ years of
experience leading large teams (15+ people across different SAP technology stacks as an
Engineering Manager
• Highly competent in ABAP Stack Basis with hands-on experience. Experience in S4HANA
is helpful.
• Experience in handling and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid
cloud environment.
• Experience in developing, designing and implementing high efficiency, low latency
enterprise-wide applications
• Consistent track record working with hybrid teams and experience in efficiently running
a diverse team including contractor teams
• Knowledge of software engineering practices and standard methodologies for the full
Software Development Lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source
control management, build processes, testing and operations
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex technical information in
a clear and concise manner to a variety of collaborators
