The role

The Technical Writer will assist with the development of operations and safety procedures for the Kwinana Upgrade Project. This full-time, fixed term position will report to the Operations Improvement Specialist and be based at Kwinana.

In this role you will be able to apply your technical writing expertise working in a team environment and autonomously. Great opportunities for developing and advancing your skills on an exciting digital transformation project!

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety, environmental and production incidents within areas of responsibility are reported, investigated in a timely fashion, and identified corrective actions implemented to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Develop and maintain safe work instructions, procedures, forms, policies, JHA’s and HAZOP’s relating to areas of responsibility in collaboration with Operations, HSE and other personnel.
  • Support Operational Readiness for the new Kwinana Milling Plant by preparing documents for the safe operation and maintenance of this new plant.
  • Promote a zero-injury environment.
  • Create engaging, step-by-step instructions on the field with mobile devices (photos, videos).
  • Utilise effective communication to escalate issues and risks for appropriate and timely mitigation and/or resolution.
  • Ability to engage with SME’s, OEMs, and operational stakeholders to obtain data and information to assist in the document development process.
  • Positive and influential engagement with trades, operators, planners, and area supervisors.
  • Continual monitoring and review of technical documents to ensure identified gaps are managed accordingly, triggering review and update processes.

About you

  • Demonstrated capability with technical writing in an operations and/or safety area.
  • Proven capability with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with Operations/Maintenance and Safety personnel.
  • Experience using photo and video content creation tools.
  • Document control processes experience.
  • Risk assessment processes.
