The Role

Cockburn Cement is seeking a proactive Plant Coordinator to join the Cement & Lime division at Woodman Point, WA. This role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and production activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimising plant operations to meet the Munster site’s quicklime production demands.

The Plant Coordinator will act as an alternate statutory supervisor for the site, participate in a weekend supervising rotational call-out roster, and collaborate with teams to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a dynamic and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to Adbri standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead safety culture initiatives and drive proactive hazard reporting.
  • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments to minimise workplace hazards.
  • Manage contractor safety and compliance on-site.
  • Plan and optimise maintenance and production schedules to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Address breakdowns and emergencies promptly to minimise impact on operations.
  • Ensure quality control processes are enforced and deviations are investigated.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date production-related documentation.
  • Support the Woodman Point Supervisor with planning meetings, resource allocation, and team training.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Promote continuous improvement and encourage innovative ideas to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Meet compliance requirements for DEMIRS, DWER, and Worksafe.
  • Maintain records, including daily inspections in the Mines Record Book and other regulatory documentation.
  • Drive excellence in asset defect reporting, operational reporting, and safety/environmental incident management.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or trade qualification in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mining or heavy industry processing.
  • Proven expertise in team coordination and supervising.
  • Strong understanding of WHS Mines Safety and Inspection Act Regulations.
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office.
  • Effective communication and organisational skills.
