About the opportunity


We have several traineeships available with immediate starts on our project located at Wallumbilla which is 30 minutes east of Roma and approximately five hours from Brisbane.

The scope of work includes road improvement with cement stabilised materials, asphalt and bitumen seals, together with some drainage improvement and replacement works.

You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive team and be guided by experienced Supervisors, gaining valuable onsite experience whilst being supported by CMC for working towards your Cert III in Civil Construction (Road Construction & Maintenance).

This is a fixed term contract until the completion of the project in June 2025, but there is the possibility of an extension to work on further projects after that date.

 

About You

 

To join our team, we would ideally like you to have the following:

 

  • Enthusiasm and commitment to completing a Cert III in Civil Construction (Road Construction & Maintenance);
  • Be located within the Wallumbilla region or be able to travel and work away from home on rosters;
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be reliable, organised with great time management;
  • A good level of physical fitness, ready and able to work outside in the field, and able to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening and functional assessment);
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Sound problem-solving skills;
  • Able to work as part of a team;
  • Able to take on board instructions and apply them to given tasks;
  • Have the willingness to learn;
  • Be hard-working and self-motivated;
  • Have a professional appearance;
  • The ability to adapt to and work with all types of people;
  • Hold a valid 'C' class manual driver's licence, and your own transport.
