This is a full-time role which operates on a rotating roster comprised of 11-hour shifts on a 4-days on, 4-days off cycle.

The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) is the communication hub of the Airport. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Integrated Operations Centre Controller. This role is critical to our daily operations, as you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of airport activities to ensure the safety and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Provide assistance to airport visitors and those working on our campus, primarily over the phone, to enhance their overall airport experience.

Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with various teams across the airport campus to ensure the seamless flow of information.

Airport Campus Coordination: Allocate and deploy Airport and Airfield resources and teams to optimise the utilisation of airport facilities and assist with the coordination of Airport and Airfield operations.

Emergency Response: Act as a central point of contact during emergency situations and coordinate with all involved parties to ensure a swift and efficient response.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to safety and regulatory standards, and respond promptly to any deviations .

System Monitoring and Response: monitor key systems including Access Control, Building Management System, Fire Control, and CCTV, and provide response for these when required

Security Management: monitor security for CIAL and initiate and coordinate response for any issues in collaboration with external parties and stakeholders.

You will be successful in this role because you have:

  • Exceptional communication skills with extensive experience helping people over the phone, ideally with some experience in emergency or crisis situations
  • A proven ability to learn new computer systems quickly, along with excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (especially outlook and excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex procedures and apply them consistently.
  • Proven judgement and decision-making skills.
  • A desire to work rotating shifts covering the 24/7 operation

And the following experience or qualification might give you an advantage:

  • Previous experience working in an airport environment (especially Christchurch Airport)
  • Previous experience in an operations centre.
  • A tertiary qualification in airport operations or similar relevant field.
  • Previous shift work experience
