About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our vibrant team at the Y in Taylors Hill, VIC. As part of our team team, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and education to the children in our early learning centre. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone to join our team on a 12-month Max Term contract and make a positive impact on the lives of young learners.

 The hourly rate for the position is between $30 - $31 p/hour (depending on your qualification & experience) + 11.5% super.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and implementing engaging, play-based learning programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children
  • Providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children
  • Conducting regular observations and assessments to monitor children's progress and inform individualised learning plans
  • Collaborating with families to build strong partnerships and support children's learning and wellbeing
  • Adhering to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and the highest standards of care
  • Actively participating in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your practice

What we're looking for

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience working as an Early Childhood Educator, preferably in a long day care or outside school hours care setting
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, pedagogy, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • A genuine passion for supporting the growth and wellbeing of young children
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service
  • A valid Working with Children Check and First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
