Roles

• Early Childhood Teacher : The Early Childhood Teacher plays a crucial role within the Early Learning team, supporting the delivery of YMCA Children’s Programs in the community. In collaboration with other teachers, they will help provide a kindergarten program for children aged 3-5 during the two years leading up to school. Their focus will be on nurturing and empowering children to reach their full potential, preparing them to confidently embrace their future.

This is a full time opportunity, with above award rates of $41 - $49 per hour depending on experience. This role offers 10 weeks paid leave per year, including term breaks and 12.5hrs of program planning per week.

• Room Leader : The Room Leader will lead, mentor and motivate room staff, supporting their development. Implement the approved curriculum, and create engaging lessons role modeling lifelong skills and fostering a love of learning. Maintain accurate records for each child in care.

This is a Full time opportunity with hourly rate of $34.29.

• Diploma qualified Educator - Casual/Full time : We are looking for passionate Educators who deliver engaging, quality programs and create a positive environment for children to learn and thrive. Work within a supportive team with ongoing training and opportunities for career growth and development.

Casual/Full time opportunity available - Casual rates : $37-$39 p/h and Full time rate : $30-$31 p/h

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a willingness to learn and grow professionally
• Have experience with early age groups, programming and documentation
• Be a natural leader and love to share your knowledge
• Promote and advocate good health and treat every child’s health as a top priority

Qualifications required

• Diploma in Early - Childhood/Children’s services
• VIT (for Early Childhood Teacher role)
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
• Employee Working with Children Check

About the Centre

Lightning Reef ELC is a single storey 115-place centre, co-located with a primary school and maternal health rooms. Aligned with Y’s philosophy, our service prides itself on fostering and enhancing children’s learning through play, while also providing our community with high quality care and education.
