As a SPOC (Service Performance Operations Centre) Network Engineer the role will require you to work on various customer sites to support networking infrastructure. The work will be diverse day to day covering both operational incidents and tasks.
You will use your experience, knowledge of networking infrastructure and initiative to resolve networking issues at customer sites. These skills will be needed to ensure that networking devices are configured to the highest standards to meet customer requirements.
Your excellent communication skills will be needed in every aspect of your day to day work. Such as working remotely with facilities engineers on customer sites to either resolve incidents or change existing infrastructure, updating our customers on the status of faults and what information or assistance you need from them to resolve issues on their network. Excellent communication skills are key to this role as you will be required to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders.
You will use your diligence and initiative to take ownership of any issues identified on a customer site to develop an acceptable solution that meets customer requirements while maintaining the integrity, security and reliability of the installed networking infrastructure.
What you'll be involved in:
• Identifying and resolving logical network infrastructure issues at customer sites
• Supporting various internal stakeholders such as, but not limited to Incident Management, Customer Engagement, Service Desk and senior Network and Facilities Engineers
• Communicating with customers, network engineers, vendors and third party support

About the role
What you'll be involved in:
- Identifying and resolving logical network infrastructure issues at customer sites
- Installing, commissioning and decommissioning network infrastructure equipment
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance on networking infrastructure
- Creating and implementing network changes for projects and normal operations
- Communicating with customers, network engineers, and third-party support vendors
You'll need to have:
- Customer focus to deliver excellent customer service
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience working with the following networking technologies is essential :
- Routing and switching
- Wireless
- Firewalls
- Software Defined WAN (e.g. Meraki)
- Network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- Ability to clearly communicate at all levels of the business and with third-party support vendors
- Be a positive and contributing member of a professional networking team
- Willing to be part of an after-hours on call roster
