The Role:

CDC NSW is seeking experienced drivers for driving during weekends and mid-week late night shifts for Rail Replacement services and Special Event work. This is a Casual Bus Driver role working on weekends and late weeknights from our Rouse Hill or other Region 4 depots located at Foundry Road, Seven Hills and Dural.

As a Bus Driver, you will assist customers in reaching their destinations and meet their commitments by providing a safe and comfortable journey. 

We are seeking experienced bus drivers with availability to work a Saturday night (minimum) or Saturday and Sunday nights. You need to be willing to work the afternoon and late evening shift hours (12:00 to 29:00).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering a prompt and reliable transport service
  • Carry out pre departure checks and reporting mechanical defects
  • Drive effectively and efficiently while ensuring passengers safety and comfort
  • Identify, address and report unsafe or unhealthy conditions, practices or behaviour in the workplace
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of road laws and company policies
  • Responsibility of using OPAL ticket machines and checking passes
  • Accurately completing recording procedures such as daily journals, time records, customer loading data and fuel and charter records

Skills, Attributes and Experience which are essential to succeed in this role:

  • Have a MR or above Heavy Vehicle Driver’s Licence (e.g. MR, HR, etc)
  • Own and carry as needed, a Heavy Vehicle Logbook (available from Service NSW)
  • Have an NSW Bus Drivers Authority (DA)
  • Have a paid work Working with Children Check
  • Have a proven history of 8 to 12 months experience driving in a 12.5m or larger bus or truck
  • Availability to work weekends and midweek night rail shifts as listed.
  • Have a minimum availability to operate PM shifts


  • Midweek nights ~6pm to 8pm+ start times, to ~2am to 3:30pm+ finishing times
  • Weekends ~midday to 4:40pm start times, to ~2am to 3:30pm+ finishing times
  • Availability to operate both AM and PM shifts on weekends is highly regarded


  • Provide your current RMS driving history
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work, Health and Safety Practices
  • Always act safely
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • A positive, proactive approach and be well presented at all times
  • Provide an Australian passport/current Australian working status
  • Flexibility of times for different shifts
