About Lady Northcote Discovery Camp

Lady Northcote Discovery Camp is located 15mins outside of Bacchus Marsh. We cater for 20,000 campers per year serving around 90,000 meals per year. Campers are of all ages and abilities.

About the Role

As our lead Cook, you will work within the catering team to ensure all campers receive delicious meals during their stay, and that kitchen assistants are well supported and guided through their day-to-day duties. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and providing food for campers, including the coordination of special diets
  • Applying best practice as outlined in the camp’s food safety program
  • Undertake general cooking duties, including baking and pastry cooking
  • Upholding the values of the YMCA at all times

This is a permanent part-time role with an hourly rate of $27.26 + Super.

About You

You are a cook who is looking for some flexibility in your workplace, and possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with campers, colleagues and other stakeholders. You will be well-organised, committed to excellent customer service and have the ability to apply best practice as outlined in the camp’s Food Safety Plan and to ensure compliance with local government requirements and YMCA policies and procedures.
