Falls Creek Cross Country, an arm of Howmans Gap Alpine Centre, are seeking passionate Senior Ski Instructors to join the team!
About Falls Creek Cross Country
Falls Creek Cross Country (FCXC) is a ski centre with everything you need to hit the cross country trails. This service is managed by the Y Victoria and is based within the Windy Corner Day Shelter, next to the Windy Corner Café. FCXC is your one-stop-shop for rentals, lessons, repairs, retail and trail information.
Falls Creek is the premier destination for cross country skiing in Victoria and with 65km of groomed cross country trails it is one of the biggest cross-country areas in Australia. This vast trail net provides plenty of suitable options for complete beginner cross country skiers through to advanced.
About the Role
As a Cross Country Ski Instructor, you will contribute to the day to day operations of the ski centre at Falls Creek, responsible for delivering a high standard of ski instruction to clients. Working up to five days a week over the winter season, this role also promotes cross country skiing in the broader Falls Creek community, and may need to be flexible to step into ski rental or the café to assist during busy periods.
This is a casual role, with an hourly rate of between $36 and $38 p/hour, dependant on qualification and experience. Onsite accommodation and/or an accommodation allowance may be discussed with successful candidates upon appointment.
The 2025 Howmans Gap winter season for 2025 is anticipated to begin 9 June and conclude 12 September - subject to change based on weather.
About You
You are a motivated individual with a passion for all things skiing and cross country, and passing this onto others. You have previous experience or qualifications in instructing/coaching skiing. You have a passion for snow and winter environments, and are committed to providing high-quality customer experiences.

Mandatory Qualifications
- First Aid certificate
- CPR certificate
- Extensive Ski Instructor experience
- The ability to instruct advanced classic/skating and experience coaching race teams
- Level 3 Nordic APSI qualification or an international equivalent qualification
