About the Camp
Located by the famous Great Ocean Road, only 90 minutes from Melbourne, Anglesea Discovery Camp runs a variety of fun programs and activities to suit every group: from beach swimming, canoeing and skateboarding by day, to campfires and stargazing at night.
About the Role
As the lead cook, you will work within the catering team to ensure all campers receive delicious meals during their stay, and that kitchen assistants are well supported and guided through their day-to-day duties. You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and providing food for campers, including the coordination of special diets
- Applying best practice as outlined in the camp’s food safety program
- Undertake general cooking duties, including baking and pastry cooking
- Upholding the values of the YMCA at all times
This is a casual role with an hourly rate of $35.35 + Super
About You
You are a cook who is looking for some flexibility in your workplace, and possesses strong interpersonal and leadership skills, which will allow you to build strong and positive relationships with campers, colleagues and other stakeholders. You will be well-organised, committed to excellent customer service and have the ability to apply best practice as outlined in the camp’s Food Safety Plan and to ensure compliance with local government requirements and YMCA policies and procedures.
