Our Finance tribe underpins everything we do at CAMILLA and supports our Australian and overseas ventures. The Assistant Accountant will report directly to the Financial Accountant and work closely with the team to, amongst others, provide accounting support to the whole business, contribute to the effective operation of Finance, and assist with exciting projects in the next phase of growth. We are looking for someone who is hungry to take on the opportunities a fast-growing business expanding internationally presents them and fits the amazing culture we have bred at CAMILLA.
As our Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for:
The Assistant Accountant reports into the Finance Manager as a part of a wider Finance team of twelve. The role will liaise with various tribes across the business and support the effective operation of the Financial Accounting team and provide Accounting support to the Camilla Tribe. Specific tasks include:
- Bank, clearing and other assigned balance sheet accounts
- The Retail business with POS banking, turnover reporting, and gift card reconciliation
- The Wholesale business with agent commissions reporting
- Fixed assets, including asset proposal, depreciation, and reconciliation and review expense accounts for prepayments & CAPEX
- In preparing month end close procedures and associated journals
- On the year-end Financial Audit process
- On BAS preparation and lodgement (Australia, New Zealand, USA, and Europe)
- Ad hoc accounting duties to support the broader team
What are we looking for in our next tribe member?
- An Individual who is looking to grow and develop in their next role
- Education in Finance with some basic knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
- Computer software skills, including Excel (Lookups and Pivot Tables)
- ERP experience: knowledge of NetSuite / Oracle will be highly regarded
- Attention to detail and ability to problem solve
- To work autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Focused with an affinity for working towards deadlines
- Passion for retail fashion and CAMILLA in particular
