The Role:
Due to the re-shape of our Christchurch operation, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional with a passion for Heavy Machinery to join us as a Senior Parts Specialist to manage and grow our Hitachi construction equipment focused parts department, based in Sockburn, Christchurch. Initially this is a 'sole charge' role, however depending on success, could quickly lead to career progression as the department grows.
Working closely with the Branch Manager and Service Manager, this position will have you hunting out new opportunities, utilising manufacturer and local tools for prospecting and supporting a busy equipment service team. You will have excellent people and communications skills along with demonstrated leadership experience. You will also have well developed technical knowledge and experience in a similar position within our industry.
About you:
- Well-honed numerical and literacy skills.
- A sound working knowledge of inventory and procurement management.
- Intermediate/advanced level in computing e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Spreadsheets, database management, invoicing, and data entry skills.
- Accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong or developing people management experience.
- Experience in growing business and leading improvements.
