Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha are recognised as Queensland's premier subtropical botanic gardens, much loved by Brisbane and over 1.2 million visitors per year. The Gardens provide extraordinary opportunities for community engagement, recreation, learning and participation. The Gardens also play an active role in promoting Brisbane as a New World City, whilst teaching residents how they can contribute to Council’s visions of “Brisbane. Clean, Green, Sustainable”.
We currently invite applications for an experienced, passionate and dedicated Visitor Experience Coordinator to run our visitor information centre.
As Visitor Experience Coordinator, you are responsible for providing high-quality customer service for all visitors, to ensure an exceptional welcome on arrival and that all visitors leave having had a memorable visitor experience. You’ll also supervise casual customer service staff while overseeing operations of the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre.
The role suits an individual who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors, thrives in being part of a great team, with a genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service. You’ll play a key role within the Visitor Experience team that coordinates all education, interpretation and volunteering at the Gardens.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the delivery of high-quality, responsive customer service at a botanic garden or similar facility, along with experience in management of events, art exhibitions, advertising and policies and procurement methods. The role may require working weekends and afterhours on occasion.
To be considered you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
- demonstrated understanding of visitor experience coordination and strong customer service skills
- highly developed communication, interpersonal and written communication skills
- ability to develop visitor engagement strategies and plans
- highly developed customer engagement skills
- project management skills and the ability to monitor and report on multiple projects.
