Construction branch delivers consistent, high quality, value for money, whole of life infrastructure. Our comprehensive knowledge of project services and assets enables us to communicate and negotiate for the best long-term options to meet the needs of the rate payers and residents of Brisbane. Construction delivers an extensive range of high-quality specialist services in the areas of civil infrastructure, storm water drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades, and land remediation.
The Role
This role sits with the Contracts team within Construction branch. The Contracts team supports the branch in delivering projects via contracted arrangements, providing all aspects of contract document preparation, tender evaluation, contract administration and contract close out to ensure high quality, value for money solutions in accordance with Council’s procurement framework.
Your role as Contracts Manager, will be to manage all aspects of procurement and delivery of civil infrastructure projects to meet project outcomes, ensuring compliance with legislation and Council procurement requirements.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- lead the delivery of assigned procurement activities, supporting project managers and colleagues with the Council procurement process.
- prepare and review contract documentation to ensure project requirements and legislative obligations are fully covered in compliance with Brisbane City Council procurement procedures, policies and guidelines.
- evaluate tenders and quotations to ensure that contracts meet project needs and make recommendations regarding preferred submissions.
- monitor work during the delivery phase ensuring compliance with contract conditions.
- Assess and verify contract claims, prepare and submit appropriate approval documentation.
- maintain an effective quality control regime to ensure work is in accordance with specifications, time constraints and budget parameters.
