About us

Brisbane City Council’s iconic CityCat and ferry services are delivered by Transport for Brisbane (TfB) through an operations and maintenance contract with a private sector service delivery provider.

The Commercial and Contract Services Branch within TfB manages this ferry services contract, with a team of contract management, public transport operations and asset management specialists working closely with our delivery partner to ensure safe, clean and reliable ferry services for our city.

About the role

We are looking for a Contract Liaison Officer (Assets), who will take on a leading role in overseeing the full asset management lifecycle for the ferry assets, working with our operator and stakeholders across Council to ensure the planning and delivery of maintenance for the ferry fleet and terminal assets is meeting business and contract requirements.

Developing and implementing a robust assurance program, as well as fostering a business partnering approach to drive continuous improvement, will be key in this role. Learnings from the management of the asset base will make you a key contributor to the development and delivery of new capital assets for the ferry operations.

Some of your day-to-day activities will include:

  • support management, coordination and delivery of the maintenance and capital program by delivery partners
  • play a leading role in end-to-end asset lifecycle management, working closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • support strong asset governance and configuration management by participating in governance forums, and maintaining strong processes for asset reporting and information management
  • developing and implementing a robust assurance program
  • building and maintaining strong and collaborative networks across functional teams.

To be successful, you will have: 

  • demonstrated experience in asset management and asset lifecycle management
  • demonstrated ability to lead staff and contractor performance
  • strong negotiation, dispute resolution and stakeholder management skills
  • highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • knowledge and skills in maritime, engineering, project management, contract management, or transport operations would be beneficial.
