Whether by bus, CityCat or ferry, e-bike or e-scooter, and soon - Metro, our division manages bus contracts with Translink, ferry, e-mobility scheme and personalised public transport operators, that enable us to support the transport choices of Brisbane residents and visitors.
Our Branch
Transport Operations is responsible for the delivery of bus network services from seven bus depots, as well as the coordination and control of the bus network through the Network Coordination Centre. We work diligently to ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of the bus services provided to the community.
The Role
Transport for Brisbane is seeking a Depot Counter Officer to contribute to the efficient operation of their services.
In this role, the Depot Counter Officer will be responsible for performing front counter operations at the depot in a professional and efficient manner.
Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, ensuring the timely dispatch of buses, maintaining accurate documentation, and acting as a liaison for bus operators to resolve issues. The Officer will also handle administrative tasks, comply with work health and safety duties, and collaborate with team leaders to establish performance standards.
The Officer should have good knowledge of bus routes and the Brisbane area, as well as a strong understanding of the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility.
This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of Transport for Brisbane and delivering exceptional service.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated ability to effectively allocate work to meet business needs – ie the timely dispatching of buses.
- demonstrated ability to complete all documentation, including payroll information, with a high degree of accuracy.
- demonstrated well developed customer service, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (eg handling routine requests and complaints), and the ability to apply these in a busy work environment.
- demonstrated ability to prioritise and solve problems (including Bus Operator problems) effectively with calmness, sensitivity and accuracy.
- a demonstrated ability to use Council (or similar) systems and software packages to manage information and resources to a high standard.
- ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
