Salary Range: Band 6 AUD $108,005 – $119,507 per annum + superannuation (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions)

Work type: Temporary Full-time

Duration: Currently up to December 2025 months with the possibility of a longer appointment/extension

​​​​​​​Brisbane Infrastructure (BI) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance and transport operations activities.​

Our Branch

The Construction Branch delivers an extensive range of high-quality specialist services in the areas of infrastructure, stormwater drainage, bridge maintenance, transport network technologies, trades and land remediation to the whole of Council and ratepayers.

The Role

The primary purpose of the Facilities Manager is to organise, control and coordinate the operational management of Council’s buildings and facilities. This includes the management of cyclic, minor works and reactive maintenance across corporate buildings, operational depots and community leased assets in accordance with the Asset Management Plan and Australian Standards.

As the Facilities Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the Council assets to the required standards, ensuring the proper and efficient operations of all physical aspect of the building and facilities to create and sustain a safe and productive environments for occupants.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills and a strong commitment to Council’s Zero Harm framework, including proven leadership in managing contractors.

You will have an experience in Facilities Management with good understanding of the building operations and proven experience in managing services supporting critical environments.

 Candidates with formal qualifications in facilities management, a professional accreditation with the Green Building Council of Australia, and/or a certificate IV Project Management will be highly regarded.

 To be successful you will have:

  • demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
  • sound knowledge of and the ability to apply the relevant Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental and quality policies and procedures in the operational field environment.
  • proven experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of programs of facilities management work within budget, specification and timeframe for a diverse range of facilities.
  • highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise, negotiate and influence customers, management and stakeholders.
  • demonstrated knowledge of procurement principles and practices to ensure effective contract administration/management is implemented to deliver cost effective and sustainable delivery of services.
  • demonstrated experience in providing pragmatic solution focused outcomes that balance the needs of the customer and legislative requirements.
