City Legal is a specialist provider of legal services to Brisbane City Council and its subsidiary companies. We provide a comprehensive range of in-house cost-effective legal services, adding value to Council’s core business and major projects.
City Legal is well known for its progressive, collegial and service-focussed delivery of specialist advice work and documentation that makes a positive difference to the city of Brisbane and its people.
As a Property Solicitor, you will provide advice on, negotiate and prepare a range of property transactions for Council, and provide legal advice to internal customers on a broad range of property and associated matters affecting Council. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of projects and activities across the organisation and deliver successful outcomes for the organisation and community.
The key to your successful placement in this role is your superior advisory, negotiation and interpersonal skills. You will truly enjoy the rewards of working in a supportive team providing front-end advice and working in a fast-paced environment whilst being challenged with varied work.
Skills and experience:
- demonstrated experience in drafting and providing advice across a range of property areas
- demonstrated knowledge and experience in Property Law and related transactions
- demonstrated relevant knowledge of legislation, case law and contemporary professional literature relating to property law
- well-developed organisational and prioritisation skills to manage conflicting deadlines
- highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
