Our Branch

The Learning and Development Services team, within Support Services, promote and partner with various areas across Council to provide learning and development advice, content and facilitated learning solutions to drive capability across an agile workforce.

The Role

As the Learning and Development Manager, you will lead a diverse team of design, delivery and education professionals. The role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of organisational wide learning services through a variety of mediums. Reporting to the Manager of Employee Services, this role focuses on ensuring the effective implementation of a broad range of programs while strategically collaborating with business partners to shape the future learning and development needs within Brisbane City Council.

To be eligible for this role, you should have extensive leadership experience and a strong track record of successfully delivering high-quality learning and development program outcomes. Your expertise in negotiating, implementing, and advancing both current and future learning and development solutions to drive best practices will be key to your success.

 To be successful you will have:

  • experience as a thoughtful leader who takes shared responsibility, fosters innovation, drives exceptional performance, and values the unique strengths of their team
  • exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively network, partner, consult, influence, negotiate and provide advice to executive and senior stakeholders
  • demonstrated experience driving an agile workforce to proactively deliver operational learning and development outcomes
  • oversee effective learning methodologies to ensure service delivery of current organisational learning interventions within a complex environment
  • drive performance excellence through embarking on current leadership capability and empower employees to meet future challenges.
