The Role
The Compliance and Regulatory Services Branch are currently seeking two City Safety Supervisors to lead the City Safety Animal Attack and City Safety Animal Management Team. Within this role, you will lead, manage and coordinate a multidisciplinary team who are responsible for undertaking compliance functions in accordance with relevant state legislation and Local Laws and investigating and resolving requests for service.
We are seeking driven and dedicated leaders, who demonstrate the ability to make considered decisions, display resilience and an openness to change. You will also possess knowledge of regulatory compliance in Queensland and be an effective communicator with both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferences for a specific team will be taken into consideration, however, are not guaranteed. Please indicate your team preference within your application.
About the Animal Attack Team
The Animal Attack Team is primarily responsible for the investigation and enforcement of matters such as dog attacks, animal seizures and declaring dogs as dangerous or menacing. As the Supervisor of the Animal Attack Team, you will provide expert knowledge across a range legislation including the application of the Animal Management Cats and Dogs Act 2008, Local Law 2017 and City of Brisbane Act 2010. To be successful, you will demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities in order to support a team of field-based officers in daily operations of compliance and regulatory matters.
About the Animal Management Team
The Animal Management Team is primarily responsible for the enforcement and compliance of animal management related issues such as stray animals, wandering, noise nuisance complaints and off leash dogs across the city. As the Supervisor of the Animal Management Team, you will provide expert knowledge across a range legislation including the application of the Animals Local Law 2017, Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008 and City of Brisbane Act 2010. To be successful, you will demonstrate excellent leadership capabilities in order to support a team of field-based officers in daily operations of compliance and regulatory matters.
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated evidence of capabilities in Council’s Leadership Blueprint to deliver performance excellence and a values-based culture
- excellent knowledge of the regulatory framework, in particular legislation, local laws, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines relating to local government licensing and regulatory compliance in Queensland
- ability to foster a workplace culture that focuses on seamless service delivery and a cohesive team environment
- current 'C' class driver's licence.
